You are here: Beatbox Tutorial

The New basic level tutorial – the snare , In this tutorial we are going to cover the idea why it’s important to have many snare sounds in your arsenal, many beginner beatboxers have the same problem of concentrating on only one snare in their beats , they do only the classic snare , or only the clap so they are not being versatile with their music , and I
think this is very important.

In this beatbox tutorial we are going to teach you 3 different sounds of snares :The classic snare , the Synth snare, and throat snare. In this tutorial you will learn how to beatbox better on it. we give you 3 new snares to your Beat Box to play around with, even if you are an experienced beatboxer and you already know those sounds it’s still can help understand how to have more control over your mouth. we show different ways to get to the snare sound, that will probably expand your understanding about how to use your muscles inside your mouth and how the sound is been build.

Well the First snare is the classic snare , we teach it with the same technique that we used to explain The Kick Drum. so we advise you to go and see the kick drum tutorial first and
learn how to do the kick before jumping to snare.

To do the throat snare it’s sound is based on the Bongo drum sound and added to this sound the word “Ish” that’s how it’s been made.

The synth snare is symbolized with the letters “Tsh” you really pronounce the letter “T” and then push your air out with the “Sh” in the end, So it’s “T-sh” .

So good luck to you all and keep working hard.

We live and Breath Beatbox,

Isato.

Basic Beatbox Kick Drum Sounds

by Isato on January 17, 2010 · 14 comments

Welcome to our newest beatbox tutorial video , at this lesson we are going to learn one of the basic sounds “the kick drum”. We are going to teach you a couple of different techniques to learn how to beatbox this sound and then we will give you three different kick sounds to have in your beatbox arsenal. They are the “synth kick”,”Air kick” and the “classic kick”.

If you really want to learn how to become the best beatboxer it’s very important to master the basics – our tutorials will give you a head start. Lots of times we see beatboxers with great potential of becoming amazing beatboxers but what stops them is one thing . CONTROL.

This is the reason that we are teaching you in this beatbox tutorial three different ways of learning to generate the sound from your mouth and lips , the purpose is to get the understanding of what kind of an air flow suppose to be, and what is the right position of your lips . The secret is when you get all this tutorial stuff it will give you a strong fundamentals for learning other more complicated sounds (that we will making tutorials for :) ), cause when you have understanding and control over your muscles you can play with the sound that you are making and in this way you may invent a new sound. that’s how you become unique , by having control and understanding.

In the second topic we teach three different kick sounds : The synth kick, the air kick and the classic kick.

So our next beatbox tutorial will going to be on learning how to do another basic sound – “The Snare” that beatbox tutorial will be simular to this one , we will be covering different ways of doing it and different kinds of snares. Please share and comment how did you used this tutorial, and even post a video response on youtube!

Here at beatbox tutorial dot net we strongly support different ways learning one thing and not being stuck,  some people might find that it’s a lot easier to do it one way then the other , so we give you all the ways :).

This is all for now, now go practice. Don’t forget to share you stories after you’ve learned it and performed it to your friends!

Keep beatboxing!

Your beatbox tutor,

Isato

This  is the new update from beatbox tutorial , Isato is on the radio beatboxing 50 cent song In da Club . (you will learn how to do it in the near future)

We in Beatbox tutorial dot net strongly believe in performing and promoting the art of human beatbox  by teaching you how to beatbox with our tutorials. like every musician you need to be everywhere .  see and use every opportunity to take yourself forward as an artist . How I got on the radio? Well, this time I were invited . But the first time that got myself on the Radio was like this: I just called this station and said that I wanna come and Perform there live.

They requested  to see my material  before they invite me, I sent them my videos, they were very impressed  and called me to come and interviewed me, It was an amazing experience.  So with this I wanted to say that If you want to perform and you take yourself seriously . First thing Practice , use our beatbox tutorials and learn how to beatbox info and ask as many questions as you need, then go and film at least one good YouTube video of you doing beat box, focus on getting the best audio quality and edit it well.

Now you are ready , to go and show this to people (you don’t have to be the best beatboxer to do it) so what you need to do is just call the club or the radio station that you want to perform there.

If you are saying to yourself  “It can’t be that easy” well it is! just go and do it! and if one place turn you down, don’t take it personally, keep trying and you will succeed trust me .

If you have any questions , any request or you didn’t understand something feel free to send us a mail and we will be happy to help you out .

Hey there fellow beatboxer, this time it is going to be all about click rolls:

It considered to be one of the most difficult beatbox techniques to explain and to master. We have found an easy way to explain it to you.

In this video we are teaching you what is click roll and how to get the feel of it, And In the end of it all to clicks just like Doug E. Fresh.

Ways of doing click rolls

There are two ways doing clicks : First one is Full click ,the second one is half click.

Full click: It’s when your tongue goes from the top of your mouth and reaches down and touches the bottom. you can hear an example in snoop dog’s drop it like it’s hot beatbox video I did.

Half click: Is when your tongue doesn’t touch the bottom of your mouth , it just clicks the top and stays in the middle of your mouth (between your teeth).

In this tutorial we are using the half click roll , cause it have a shorter sound and it enables you to do them faster one after another in comparison to the full click rolls that “take more time”.

Try doing this beatbox practice in this basic mode with 3 sounds: using the classic kick and half kicks one after another.

For example: one kick as a (P) and then two half clicks (CL) (CL), and just repeat it in a loop. if you are a beginner start in quite slow pace, so you can adjust the timing and than slowly rise the pace.

In a notation it’s gonna look like this : (P)(CL)(Cl)(P)(CL)(CL)(CL)(CL) in a loop. (it is really 8 eights tempo but we wouldn’t get into this now.)

Why our way will make you learn faster click rolls?

If you practice it for a while, it will give you the feel how to do the original clicks cause the positioning of the tongue is the same.

Actually our way gives you more control over your clicks then the original technique, because, there it’s all about your air flow in side your mouth and each time it’s a little bit different.

Actually our way gives you more control over your clicks then the original technique, because, there it’s all about your air flow and each time it’s a little bit different.

For conclustion, this skill takes time to learn, so PRACTICE till you make it perfect.

Stay Fresh and Beatbox Like Crazy,

Isato

So, we promised and deliver! check this youtube beatbox video tutorial: (here is the teaser if you didn’t see it)

We are dividing our beatboxing tutorials to 3 main levels, beginner, intermediate, and expert. this one is an expert level! (although I am sure we will make even more advanced tutorials than that! We going to take it to another level for making the best beatboxers in the world!)

The key point for learning how to beatbox on boom boom pow beatboxing (black eyed peas) is first of all relax :)

Now, look at the fundamental of the Bass drum P, try to make it like Isato is doing, I think we will make a beatbox tutorial just for it. always practice the basics of beatbox.

Once you got the P sound in your mouth, go and try the Clap – CH, again you can do this combination even if you don’t master it, practice makes it’s perfect.

Proceed and follow Isato with the basic beat without the boom boom pow and “let me get that”, do it till you have really nice groove and you beat is working.

Now sing the Boom Boom Boom (it’s really boom boom boom), do it again and again till you get the tone right, it’s one of the beatbox master technique to sing with really good pitch. we will teach that too! (don’t worry if you are a girl or you voice can’t get that low, always find a way to compensate what you don’t have :) )

Go with Isato and do it with the basic beat with the boom boom, now just add the “let me get that”, did you got it? :) practice makes it perfect! see Isato’s timing with the voice and the basic beatbox beat. want more? comment us for what exactly do you want to learn.

If you are a really beginner beatbox skills I recommend try it bit by bit, and if it’s really hard for you, wait for our next tutorial, we promise to make a beginner level tutorial soon!

BTW: don’t forget to sign up! (at the upper right corner) we are realising soon the ULTIMATE beatbox manual, stay tuned…

beatbox like your grandma will scream at you, :P
